Mint vs Dex: two Pokémon-only collection apps compared
Mint and Dex both track Pokémon collections with CardMarket and TCGPlayer prices. Compared on scanning (both bulk-capable), free tiers, Dex+ vs Mint Pro pricing, languages and Japanese sets.
Updated
Dex and Mint are the two closest apps in this category: both are Pokémon-only, both show CardMarket and TCGPlayer prices, and both can scan a stack or a page of cards. The differences are in what is free, whether the scanner is included, grading, and language coverage. Dex gives away the database and checklist features and charges for the scanner; Mint includes the scanner in the free tier and charges for unlimited use.

Choose Dex if
- You want the whole database and checklists free and do not need to scan.
- You collect Japanese or Chinese sets, or use the app in one of its 12 languages.
- You are on Android, or you want a deck builder and social features.
Choose Mint if
- Scanning is the main thing you do: it is included free, and Deck Sweep™ handles a binder page per photo.
- You want PSA graded prices and a condition estimate before grading.
- You want price alerts and a value chart of your collection over time.
- You prefer a cheaper lifetime purchase ($59.99 vs $109).
How this comparison was made
Facts were taken from each app's own App Store listing, in-app purchase list and website on 2026-09-17 (links in the sources list). Ratings are the US App Store. Where a vendor does not publish a fact it is marked n/a rather than guessed. Mint is our app, so the trade-offs section spells out where the others win. Corrections: josh@getmint.app.
